 Available in a variety of current ratings and output configurations for two or more battery banks, the Manta battery isolator consists essentially of two (or more depending on model) diodes with their inputs connected. They allow voltage to pass one way only, so that each battery has an output but cannot drain back between banks. They are mounted on heat sinks specifically designed for maximum current carrying capacity and maximum heat dissipation. A battery isolator has a simple and reliable configuration with an inherent voltage drop of typically 0.7-0.8 Volts.
